Black Women + ACA Town Hall
Time & Location
About the Event
There are 11,578,800 people in Texas with pre-existing conditions.
The repeal of the ACA threatens to end protections for those living with pre-existing conditions, allowing insurance companies to deny, drop coverage, and charge more because of a pre-existing condition.
Black Women struggle to stay alive and healthy in this state’s current conditions.
The repeal of the ACA will further stigmatize, marginalize, and create barriers to care for Black Women, resulting in even more lost lives.
We will have several speakers discussing how the ACA effects Black Women's lives in Dallas, Texas.
Panelists Include: Moderator: Rev. Deneen Robinson of The Afiya Center Marsha Jones, Executive Director of The Afiya Center Helen Zimba, HIV Program Manager of The Afiya Center Summer Lollie, Board Member of Texas Equal Access Fund
and Special Guest Representative Rhetta Bowers of District 113
